#MMM17 days 28, 29 and 30

I was writing all weekend. Edits for my thesis so I can submit. Finally! Still got to manually sort the references as it goes but its nearly there. My poor dogs and partner have suffered with me. I have not taken my dogs out since Saturday. My partner has but its just not the same. I never stopped but just wrote all day and am still writing now. Have taken a break to write my blog since the photos are now mounting up.

#MMM17 day 27 blue leopard print dress

To day I decided to make the most of my holiday and started the day off wearing this dress which was made as part of the "3 dresses from one pattern challenge". In fact I must try and wear the other two this summer:

#MMM17 day 26

Well May is nearly done with and finally its hot!

Today I wore this top to work and forgot all about #MMM17. so never took any photos!

It was made as part of last years Gingham along which was great fun!
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/62-gingham-along.html

When I got home after a hard day working I was hot sweaty and changed into this which I love:

But I also LOVE this conker tree. Unfortunately my other half didn't quite get that I was also after a photo of this lovely tree which is in full bloom right now. I just love it. I will try and get a better photo tomorrow,
and I AM ON HOLIDAY!!
Thanks for visiting my blog. See you soon,
Bracken

#MMM17 day 25

So not long to go now May- is nearly over. I have found this year that its so far a lot easier to do MMM than last year.

Today I wore my cullottes made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/93-leapard-print-cullottes.html

which as I suspected when I finished making them I don't like much. They are cool ( temperature wise rather than "cool") when its hot but next time I make culottes I will use a different pattern. Cullottes are and have since my teens been a favourite of mine so I will make more. Its not the clothing type I don't like its this particular style.

#MMM days 22 and 23

On Monday I wore this top:

http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/68-joe-browns-inspired-upcycled-tunic.html

Today I wore this to work:

And later this dress:

http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/80-velvet-slip-dress.html

with this top which surprisingly I do not think I have included on the blog. Really this should have been part of my original 100 garments. Still never mind. Its a Burda Pattern from 09/2014 for the oversized sweatshirt.

Thanks for visiting me,
Bracken

This morning I wore my cold shoulder jumper to do allotment work and this afternoon I went to the supermarket in my black flares and my wide neck top which I am now considering adding two shoulder straps to, to make into a cold shoulder top.

Trousers here: http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/98-and-99-sports-top-and-flared.html

#MMM17 day 20

Today: Red dress here:

http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/13-red-dress-re-visited.html

This started out a complete disaster since I could not understand Burda at all. I have got better at that, understanding Burda instructions that is. I actually like the end result. Reminds me of vampire clothing!

Black fishnet T-shirt here:

#MMM17 day 19

Today I wore my lilac gingham leggings which were made for the Gingham Along here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/64-and-65-gingham-along-items.html
That was so much fun!
Funny I only bought the fabric cos it was ridiculously cheap. I don't even like gingham but these were a good make although I ended up redoing the waistband and added elastic to the top of them cos they were too tight else. Probably 'cos the pattern is meant for stretch knits not stretch cotton. Its also not very stretchy stretch cotton! They work now anyway.
With these I wore my fluffy mohair type jumper with my lace top. This jumper took ages to finish knitting here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/18-easy-knitting-jumper-finishing-ufos.html
And top here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/63-lace-trimmed-top-from-burda-082016.html
I like this top very much so am intending to make several more of these in different colours. Maybe with better background fabric tho' cos this is naff.

#MMM17 day 18

Since I found I am pretty much wearing the same items over and over again this month despite me having choices I suppose it is time I made an effort to wear something different.
To be honest my work wardrobe is a bit limited due to me having spent the last 3.5 years as a student when I could pretty much wear whatever I wished. Though one thing I did do as a student was to make sure things were wearable with Toe-tector boots. Now I am in an office and doing PC work so no boots needed but my clothes do not often fit into that environment. It is meant to be business wear but so far I have got away with wearing me-made. I obviously need new clothing since I have a six month contract. I also started this blog as a student so I never made things to wear that are " respectable" and now I am having some issues. Partly it is down to my lack of imagination with combinations of me-made clothing I do own  and needing to leave very early in the morning so I need to try to work out better what goes with what.

Today I am wearing my red dress made quite a while ago now here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/5-burdastyle-dress-lace-cowl-dress.html

and that is all my me-made today.

#MMM17 Day 16

Today I two me-made items. I wore my boxy orange top with RTW trousers. I made the top here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/i-was-originally-at-this.html
It was the very first garment I made when I began my challenge to make 100 garments. I have definitely got better. I really could tell today when I looked at how I made that top. I do like it still but it was very much somewhere to begin.

I also wore my me-made-hair tie and it is also here:

Pin Stripe Trousers #MMM17 day 15

I needed new work clothes. Particularly trousers so I made a second pair of the Burda Flares I made here but in pin stripe:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/98-and-99-sports-top-and-flared.html
since I like the first pair so much. I am not so sure to be honest about that front seam but they are made now and perfectly acceptable as work clothing although with hindsight I should have spent a bit longer and mated the pattern better. Still the fabric which is a very stable knit was only 99p off ebay so its not the best experiment so far but has given me an ok pair of work trousers. Next time I would change the direction of the side stipe if I was making again then it would not matter so much about matching the pattern on that front seam. It simply does not match!

Worn with them is my top made here:

Red and Black faux leather leggings #MMM17 day 13

Well I have made yet another pair of leggings from Butterick B5778. I really should try a different pattern for my next pair I think. I really do like side panel leggings though but I now have four pairs which you if you are interested can be found here: :
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/38-side-panel-leggings.html
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/86-black-and-yellow-leggings-and-87.html
and
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/64-and-65-gingham-along-items.html

I have some new patterns now though so am intending to try out some which have more panels and pieces. I fancy more sports wear styles and bought several patterns in a Jaycotts sale recently so need to try them. All I have actually made so far is a jacket here: http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/98-and-99-sports-top-and-flared.html
from McCalls 7482 but the leggings pattern is also tempting so maybe I should have a play with that pattern next?

#MMM17 Day 12

I wore my top made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/83-long-sleeved-top-for-winter.html
but I took the brooch off when washing and forgot to replace so its "broochless" today

With leggings made here:

#MMM17 Day 11

Day 11: I wore my top made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/86-black-and-yellow-leggings-and-87.html
 to work with RTW trousers.

I almost forgot to take a photo and changed into my PJ trousers made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/burdastyle-012016-112-track-pants-or.html
They were not intended as PJs but have ended up being really good for that.

Luckily I remembered the photo.

I did not wear the track pants all day though it is still May and I did make them!

#MMM17 - Days 7, 8 and 9

Day 7
Lifes been busy. I have not posted as expected for the last 3 days but did take #MMM17 photos so will update now.  I expected to have to euthanase one of the dogs on Saturday. I was walking Reggie on Saturday night and his legs just gave way. He was completely unable to walk and dragging his back legs behind him. We carried him upstairs to bed on Saturday night. Normally both dogs sleep on the floor at the end of the bed. He weighs 28kg so is not a small dog and lifting him is very difficult if you do not want to hurt or cause more problems to either him or to us. We had hoped he would be better the next day. It happened a few times with my old dog before his legs finally went.  Took to the vet as an emergency appointment first thing Sunday when he was no better thinking this is the end. We both were very upset. But he is still with us and looking better. The vet reckons he has damaged a disc in his spine so it could just be bruised. He has to take tablets which I assume reduce inflammation and we carry him outside as needed using a  towel. I reckon 20 years ago he would have just been put down but this vet thinks he will improve.

So anyway on Sunday night we decided he needed to sleep downstairs  His brother ( sibling from same litter) stayed with him which is lovely.  Anyway he was having none of it and just wined and howled all night so we took turns looking after him to try and calm him. I got virtually no sleep due to having to try and stop him howling and annoying the next door neighbours. Talk about a nightmare and then starting a new job the next morning. I was totally knackered and trying to learn new stuff and finally earn some money. It looks to be an OK job too so I need to do my best. Not what I needed really being that tired but it seems that is how life usually works.
Anyway last night we gave in and carried him upstairs.  Anyway in all this I have not had time for #MMM which is sad but somethings matter more than blogging. I am catching up a bit here.

So on day 7: I wore a top made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/94-upcycled-pyjama-top-into-cold.html

with T shirt made here:
http://brackencrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/mmmay-blueblack-raglan-sleeved-top.html

And a pair of RTW leggings over-dyed purple ( by me).

And photo-bombed by a Ronnie dog

Day 8: I started work and wore my bows raglan top which has become a favourite.with some pretty old and unfashionable Miss Selfridge suit trousers  You can find out about it here:

Day 9: I wore my yellow cowl-hoody dress again. Mainly because I wore it a few days ago and it was still in the washing that I have not put away so was easy to find. Currently I am also into this dress since it suits the time of year.

And today there is a huge improvement in Reggie-dog who we have to keep telling to lie down because he obviously thinks he is better. He is meant to rest his leg and the disc in his spine for a few more days yet else we risk losing him but explaining this to him has proved very difficult. He is not yet being euthanased at least.
